Ethical Safety and Support Touch for Guides, Traditional Healers, Psychotherapists, and Witnesses

Join us for a day of growth, connection, and transformation as we embrace the power of touch with Suz, a board-certified massage therapist and visionary in Ketamine Assisted Therapeutic Massage.

We will work together in ethical exploration and skill refinement as we delve into the intricacies of touch with substance. From negotiating consent models to distinguishing between safety touch and support touch to subtle trauma-informed techniques to exploring cultural attitudes toward touch, Suz will guide you through every step with expertise and compassion.

Discover the art of using energy, sounds, props, your hands, and assisted stretches with good body mechanics, ensuring a holistic approach that can meet many levels of boundaries you will encounter and that feels safe for you. Through hands-on experience and collaborative exchanges, you'll cultivate techniques tailored to your comfort level and what works for you in your body.

In this nurturing environment, participants will have the opportunity to engage in trades, fostering a sense of community and mutual support.

Cacao will be available during trades as a heart-opening sacrament.

Remember to dress in loose, comfortable clothing to fully immerse yourself in the experience.

By the end of the workshop, you'll be able to:

1. Establish agreements and boundaries to uphold safety in sessions.

2. Evaluate the risks and benefits associated with support touch, empowering informed decision-making.

3. Skillfully negotiate and navigate consent both in preparation and during sessions, fostering a culture of respect and empowerment.

4. Demonstrate proficiency in the practice of giving and receiving safe, supportive touch by:

  • Apply proper techniques to ensure physical safety and emotional comfort for both the giver and receiver.

  • Effectively communicating intentions, boundaries, and preferences before, during, and after the exchange of touch.

  • Recognize and respond to nonverbal cues and verbal feedback to adjust pressure, pace, and technique accordingly.

  • Cultivate an environment of trust, respect, and consent, fostering a sense of empowerment and agency for all parties involved.

  • Reflect on personal experiences and integrate feedback to continually refine and enhance one's ability to engage in safe, supportive touch interactions.
