Insurance

What do you need to ask your insurance company?

With health insurance, our clients usually pay in advance. We are currently an out-of-network provider for all plans, and we are working on that.

We commonly use a few treatment codes (CPT codes) in our practice. Please, confirm these are covered with your plan for treatment of your diagnosis code and ask about preauthorization requirements. Common diagnosis codes that map to massage therapy treatment codes include pain management, oncology, and more. Our taxonomy for NPI/billing purposes is Mechanotherapist - 172M00000X.

Your plan may cover a limited amount of time per visit at a fixed rate. This is often a partial reimbursement of our fees. Ask for these details when you call your insurer to see what they cover, and request they send you their pdf reimbursement form (sometimes known as a superbill form).

HSAs

HSA accounts may be used to pay for your appointment with your HSA credit or debit card. Please, check your HSA plan for details.

Wellness Benefits and Perks

Many Bay Area companies allow for up to $100 a month in wellness benefits in addition to health insurance! Wellness benefits include massage therapy and related services. You may be able to use the receipt from your visit to request a wellness benefit reimbursement from your employer. Check with your benefits team to see if they offer a wellness stipend program.

We accept referrals. For example:
